Circulating: City of Influence

Florence, Italy, ranks among the most beautiful and culturally influential cities in the world — which is why I was so thrilled to get to traipse through its neighborhoods and the surrounding Tuscan countryside for a week this past July.

My eight-page article covering some of the things I experienced while I was there has been published in the latest issue of Jetset Magazine, which also features the perpetually handsome Patrick Dempsey from Grey’s Anatomy on its cover, along with a story on the actor’s successful turn as a race car driver. (True story: He owns and drives for Dempsey Racing.)

Riomaggiore

During the week I was in Italy this past July, my family set aside a day to travel from Florence to Riomaggiore, a village situated on the Italian Riviera.

Sometimes it’s fun (and maybe even necessary, right?) to go on an armchair vacation. Read moreRead more

Guide Me: Travel Books and Other Necessary Equipment

At the end of this month, I’m headed to New York City for an assignment, and I can’t wait. Having never before spent any real amount of time in our country’s most famous city, I’m really looking forward to the experience.

Of course, never one to show up unprepared, I believe in doing a healthy amount of research well ahead of time (hello, writer), which includes never entering a foreign land (“foreign” more as in “unknown,” rather than “outside of the U.S.,” and “land” as in “city” or “country,” rather than “territory” or “countryside”) without a super fantastic, detailed, all-inclusive, handy dandy guidebook.
